Thanksgiving is almost here, which means Christmas is just around the corner! To help kickoff the holiday season, I’ve created a list of upcoming Christmas tree lighting events taking place across the metro Atlanta area. Pay special attention to the dates, as many events are happening the weekend before Thanksgiving.
The Lighting of Avalon: Sunday, November 24th from 1 – 8 p.m. Avalon has a whole day of family-friendly festive activities planned, ending with a magical tree lighting at 7 p.m.
Light Up Dunwoody: Sunday, November 24th from 3 – 5:45 p.m. at the Cheek Spruill Farm House. Enjoy live entertainment and take free pictures with Santa and his sleigh throughout the afternoon. The lighting of the tree and menorah starts around 5:30 p.m.
Macy’s Great Tree Lighting: Sunday, November 24th at 6:30 p.m. at Lenox Square Mall. Though event details have yet to be released for the 2019 event, you can be sure that Macy’s Great Tree Lighting will not disappoint!
Smyrna Coming Home for the Holidays: Tuesday, December 3rd from 5 – 8 p.m. in downtown Smyrna. Santa visits and a Christmas parade precede the 7 p.m. tree lighting.
Light Up Brookhaven: Wednesday, December 4th from 6:30 – 9 p.m. at Brookhaven’s Blackburn Park. This free, family-friendly event will include holiday crafts, visits with Santa, and both a Christmas tree and Hanukah display lighting.
Marietta Square Christmas Tree Lighting: Thursday, December 5th from 4 – 8 p.m. in Glover Park. Santa is scheduled to arrive at 5:20 p.m. and the tree lighting will begin at 6 p.m.
Peachtree Corners Holiday Extravaganza: Friday, December 6th. Town Green will host their first tree lighting event, complete with a parade and pictures with Santa.
Alpharetta Tree Lighting: Friday, December 6th from 6 – 9 p.m. in downtown Alpharetta. Celebration fills the downtown streets of Alpharetta with musical performances, snow, photos with Santa, a holiday market and more!
