Atlanta does not disappoint when it comes to fall festivals and events. Just take a look at the list below – the month of October is filled with endless fall fun.
Stone Mountain Pumpkin Festival: This traditional Stone Mountain fall event takes place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through November 3rd. This year’s theme is “Play by Day, Glow by Night” and offers activities tailored to both children and adults.
Scarecrows in the Garden: From October 1st – November 3rd, hundreds of scarecrows will be displayed throughout the grounds of the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Plus their yearly children’s costume event – Goblins in the Garden – will be held Sunday, October 27th.
Cumming Fair: With a large selection of carnival rides and games plus concerts headlined by popular artists, the Cumming Fair is a popular fall tradition for families of all ages. Held at the Cumming Fairgrounds, this year’s fair will run every day of the week from October 3rd – 13th.
Taste of Chamblee: The 12th annual Taste of Chamblee will take place Saturday, October 5th in Downtown Chamblee.
Norcross Art Splash: Local vendors, artists, musicians, and restaurants will takeover the streets of Historic Norcross the weekend of October 5th and 6th.
Hot-Air Balloon Festival: For a truly different fall experience, Kennesaw will host an “Owl-O-Ween” hot air balloon festival on October 18th and 19th.
Taste of Atlanta: On October 18th, 19th, and 20th, over 100 restaurants will showcase their food in the Historic Fourth Ward. If you’re a foodie, this is an event you will not want to miss!
Little 5 Points Halloween Parade: Ready to get into the Halloween spirit? Little 5 Points will be overtaken by ghosts and goblins on Saturday, October 19th for their annual parade and festival.
Fall Festival on Ponce: A tradition in both the fall and spring, The Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces will host over 100 local artists and vendors in Olmstead Linear Park on October 12th and 13th.
Brookhaven Arts Festival: Since 2004, Brookhaven hosts a small but mighty arts festival surrounded by music and delicious food. This year’s festival takes place on Apple Valley Road on October 19th and 20th.
Johns Creek Arts Festival: And for a festival a little closer to home, the Johns Creek Art Festival will take place across from the Atlanta Athletic Club on October 19th and 20th.
Boo at the Zoo: A favorite for kids and adults, Zoo Atlanta throws their festive Halloween event October 19th and 20th, as well as October 26th and 27th.
Fernbank Halloween: Fernbank’s Dinosaur Trick-or-Treat is a kid-friendly event from 10 am – 1 pm on Saturday, October 26th. Fernbank is also hosting numerous other “Halloween Happenings” throughout the month of October. View their event information page for details.
